A movie starring the brilliant actor Vincent Price (The House on the Haunted Hill, The Fall of the House of Usher) about a man who sees everyone die of a mysterious plague. Post mortem zombies appear when the corpses are not burnt and keep the army busy with their disposal. Price, a scientist that worked with bacteria, turns out to be immune to this disease and becomes the Last Man on Earth.

As in most horror movies, there is a twist. He is not as alone as we expect. During the night the dead rise and hunt for blood. A woman infected with the disease discovers a way to postpone the effects of the disease and doesn't die or turn into a zombie. Herself and a gang of others that are partaking in this treatment become scared of The Last Man On Earth.

Eventually Price pays with his own life by being shot.

This movie is based on the novel I am Legend by Richard Matheson and the movie has been remade in the seventies although it is a much weaker movie than this masterpiece. All in all a great movie and worth buying.
